One of my favourite parts of maternity photography is helping you see how many different versions of yourself can exist in one calm, relaxed session.
This recent maternity shoot with Dareen is a perfect example. Using dresses from my studio maternity wardrobe, we created three completely different looks, each with its own mood and feel.
One dress can be beautiful, but three dresses give you choice, variety, and a gallery that feels complete.
For Dareen’s session, we planned three looks that photographed in very different ways.
Even when lighting and backgrounds stay consistent, changing outfits completely shifts the mood and final result.
All three dresses came from my studio maternity wardrobe. This is something clients often tell me takes a huge amount of pressure off.
Every piece in my wardrobe is chosen because it works beautifully on camera and allows me to shape, pose, and light you in a flattering way.
Most clients arrive feeling unsure about posing. That is completely normal.
I guide you through everything. Where to stand, where to place your hands, how to move, and how to hold yourself comfortably. You do not need to know what to do. That is my job.
My studio is calm, cosy, and unhurried. I also show you images on the back of the camera as we go, which helps you relax and trust the process.
Before we start shooting, I always talk through colours, styles, and how you imagine displaying your images at home.
That conversation shapes the entire session. There is no one size fits all approach. Every maternity shoot is planned around what feels right for you.
Whether you want something soft and understated or strong and confident, I tailor the session to reflect that.
My studio is based in Blantyre and I photograph maternity sessions for clients from across Glasgow and Lanarkshire.
If you are thinking about a maternity shoot and want images that feel relaxed, confident, and personal, get in touch to chat about your session. I would love to plan something just for you.
