And a beautiful boy who was an absolute dream to photograph.
Little Layton came along to my studio with his mum and dad, who are also from Blantyre, so they didn't have far to travel!
They were referred to me through Numi Scan, the local baby scanning clinic, and it was lovely to welcome them along for Layton's first photoshoot.
I do love bringing a little tartan into my newborn sessions, especially at this time of year.
For Layton's photographs, I used a mixture of cosy rustic baskets, soft greens and a lovely blue backdrop.
We started with him all wrapped up in a knitted blanket, holding a little bunny, with some tartan tucked around the basket.
Then I changed things around for a green setup with some greenery and a lovely textured blanket.
And finally, a blue setup where Layton decided to have a little look at what was going on!
I always tell parents not to worry if their baby doesn't sleep for the whole session. It's lovely to capture some awake photographs too.
And of course, I couldn't let mum and dad leave without some lovely family photographs.
I know that having your photograph taken isn't always something you feel like doing just after having a baby, but I really do encourage parents to be included.
We managed to get a lovely mixture of photographs, including a black and white one of them both looking at Layton, which is one of my favourites from the session. ❤️
My photography studio is based in Blantyre, South Lanarkshire, and I welcome families from Glasgow, Hamilton, Bothwell, Uddingston and the surrounding areas.
I also receive referrals from Numi Scan Lanarkshire, a local baby scanning clinic, which is a lovely way to meet families who are getting ready to welcome their new baby.
I provide all the wraps, outfits, baskets and props for your newborn session, and you're very welcome to include family photographs too.
I usually recommend photographing newborn babies when they're around 10 to 21 days old, although I regularly photograph older babies as well.
If you're expecting a baby, you can book your session while you're still pregnant. I use your due date as a floating date and arrange your actual appointment once your little one arrives.

Thank you so much to Layton's mum and dad for bringing him along to meet me. It was lovely having you all in the studio. xx
